COTTON, John - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Cates - John Cotton, age 55, a former Cates resident died Thursday night, Aug. 23, at the Vermillion County Nursing Home near Clinton where he had been a patient two days. Born March 12, 1907 at Cates, he was the son of Charley and Margaret Allen Cotton. He never married. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Florence Stakley of near Tangier; a brother, George, of Cates; several nieces and nephews. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated. Burial was in Miller Cemetery near Lodi.
